- Wearing clothing to cover up your skin when heading outside is important. Things like sunglasses, big broad-brim hats, long sleeves and pants.
- Limiting your time in the sun, particularly between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. as that is when the sun rays are most forceful.
- Using sunscreens with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value of 15+ daily. Apply the sunscreen to all of the uncovered skin, especially your nose, ears, neck, hands, feet and lips. Avoid putting it near your mouth and eyes.
- Always read the label of whatever you put onto your skin. Your skin is so fragile and deserves to be taken care of.
